ELOPING IN CDMX

When Molly and Zack first reached out, their plan was clear.
They live in Los Angeles, but Mexico City has been part of their relationship for years. It’s a city they return to often — for food, culture, and the creative energy. So when they saw we were offering full-service elopement and micro wedding packages in Mexico City, they booked early. In fact, they were one of our first CDMX couples.

Their vision: a destination micro wedding with around 30 guests, rooted in story and experience rather than tradition.
Because Molly and Zack both work in cinema, the wedding needed to reflect that. They didn’t want a resort or ballroom. They wanted a wedding that felt connected to the city and their creative world.

One of the most surprising parts of this wedding is the overall cost.
Molly and Zack’s celebration came in under $15,000 for around 30 guests, including multiple locations, custom florals, live music, transportation, and a full dinner.
And they didn’t cut corners. This is why so many couples are choosing Mexico City for micro weddings. You can focus your budget on experience and guest connection instead of inflated venue pricing.

The evening continued at Terraza Palmares, a rooftop restaurant that works well for private group dinners. In Mexico City, rooftops , aka terrazas , re a big part of social life. They offer open air, skyline views, and a more relaxed setting than traditional event spaces. The restaurant set up a long communal table for the group. No formal seating chart, no heavy decor. Just one shared table, great food, and conversation.
And that’s one of the biggest benefits of getting married in Mexico City: you don’t need to over-style the space. Many venues already have strong design and atmosphere built in.
We kept florals minimal and let the setting carry the night.

Because cinema is such a big part of Molly and Zack’s lives, we reached out to Sena, an independent movie theater in Mexico City with deep ties to the local creative community.

Sena has a rooftop that works beautifully for small ceremonies. It’s open-air, central, and feels tucked away from the noise of the city.
We rented the rooftop for the afternoon and kept the ceremony simple but intentional: A custom floral installation by Tim Flowers designed to blend into the architecture, A live mariachi band greeting guests as they arrived, Light snacks and drinks to keep the energy relaxed
The result was a ceremony that felt personal and rooted in place. Not overproduced. Not formal. Just meaningful.

A Wedding That Reflected Who They Are

"We didn’t want a production. We wanted a story. Something personal, layered, and real. The whole day unfolded in a way that felt natural and emotional without being overwhelming."

Mexico City continues to be one of our favorite places for destination weddings. It’s accessible from the U.S., full of culture, and offers a wide range of venues that work well for smaller guest counts.
Whether you’re planning an elopement, a micro wedding, or a full destination experience, the city allows you to create something layered without making it complicated.
Molly and Zack trusted the process and leaned into the experience. The result was a wedding that felt natural, connected, and true to their story.
If you’re considering a Mexico City micro wedding or elopement, we’d love to help you explore what’s possible.

Thinking About a Mexico City Elopement or Micro Wedding?

What stood out most about Molly and Zack’s wedding wasn’t just the setting — it was how aligned the day felt with them. Creative but grounded. Personal but welcoming. Structured without feeling rigid. It felt less like an event and more like a gathering. And that’s always the goal with destination micro weddings. Not scale, but meaning
